Life after X-Factor – Pony by The River Jesters

I’m not really a fan of the reality music show – I remember Postars, and True Bliss. Part of the reason is that taking part is not always a good move for the careers of the artists.

However, the singer in our this band proves there is life after shows like X factor for contestants like Tom Batchelor.

The clap that won the war – Bannerman (unreleased)

A wonderful song with a swingy tempo – not to mention whistling, and brass. A lovely mix.

Bannerman has been releasing music for about six years now. Richard Setford writes the songs and is helped by Cole Goodley (drums), Cass Mitchell (bass/vocals/percussion), Finn Scholes (trumpet/keys), Tam Scholes (guitar) and Siobhanne Thompson (violin/vocals).

They’ve received lots of acclaim from New Zealand music critics. There’s a raw honesty about the songs that I really enjoy – not to mention the live session recording feel. Word on their website is that Bannerman have recently moved to Berlin, so who knows when we’ll se him again on these shores, but he’d be worth seeing if you get the chance.

‘Bannerman’ on theaudience.
